King Street Townhouse is a residence befitting the exclusivity of its namesake thoroughfare — historically home to some of central Manchester’s best fashion boutiques and architecture. The building itself speaks to this, completed in 1872, it casts an imposing shadow over the road with its stunning stone details. The perfect location for one of the North West’s most iconic luxury hotels, a refined destination catering for high end tourism and business travellers, drawn by the combination of exceptional service and sophisticated surrounds.

“We are more than just a place to stay – we specialise in the unexpected. We’re thoughtful in our approach to hosting unforgettable experiences that are personal to you, effortlessly capturing the captivating buzz of the city at our feet, while retaining the same sense of welcoming charm,” the team proudly explain. “We’re both the key to the city, and your escape from the everyday. Whatever you’re looking for in your visit, you’ll find it here.” Those after proof should take one look at the coveted ESPA Spa, a serene enclave of wellness focused on transporting guests and members through a unique approach to health and fitness.

Any work out is incomplete without a stop at The Tavern afterwards. King Street Townhouse’s ground floor restaurant opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and ranges from a more laidback grill-focused daytime offering, including a strong selection of elevated sandwiches, through to fine dining as the evening sets in. So think guinea fowl with press potato, artichoke, courgette, ras el hanout, and saffron. Or cauliflower with black bomber cheddar, vegan bacon, and pickled walnuts. As you would expect, the upstairs rooms are spectacular to unwind in following all that, and divided into snug, cosy, comfy, junior and suite categories. Afternoon Tea can also be booked, even if you’re not staying the night, and there are regular cocktail, snack and movie packages available, making use of a dedicated 20-seat screening room.
