OSMA, the shining star of Prestwich, has become a common mention among Manchester’s foodies. The unique moniker isn’t a character from a Frank L Baum story, but rather an amalgamation of Oslo and Manchester, the birth cities of founders Danielle Heron and Sophie Stoermann-Naess.

Danielle, a Whitefield native, has honed her skills at the distinguished two Michelin-starred L’Enclume in the Lake District and the three-star Maaemo in Oslo. These fine dining experiences merge seamlessly with her passion for Scandinavian flavours to craft a truly distinct menu for the region. Like many other Manchester establishments, OSMA thrives on a small plates concept, regularly refreshing its menu in line with the changing seasons as all top-tier restaurants do. You can usually find an abundance of seafood on the menu, often presented in cured or sashimi styles, a variety of locally sourced vegetables, and unconventional pairings like Szechuan pepper in a strawberry dessert or Diane sauce with celeriac. For those with more conventional tastes, there are also dependable combinations, but OSMA primarily invites guests to anticipate the unexpected, which even includes an outstanding Sunday roast. There’s truly no place quite like OSMA.
