City centre spa, Urban Oasis, has expanded its premises, taking over the entire 1,500 sq ft mezzanine floor at Debenhams in Manchester.
The wellbeing, hair and beauty spa, which has also undergone a major refurbishment, aims to bring ‘healing to the high street’ by offering holistic wellbeing and complementary therapies including Reiki, alongside traditional spa treatments. Reiki is used to help relieve physical and emotional pain and to promote a deep sense of relaxation on every level. It can speed the healing process, boost vitality and balance the body’s energy.
Popular for parties and private functions, facilities include a large hairdressing salon, six treatment rooms, including a room for two, a pedicure suite, a nail bar seating five, a tan room, relaxation areas and the brand new View Cafe Bar overlooking the ground floor.
Urban Oasis provides a quiet sanctuary from the frantic way of life with a meditation room in development, specifically aimed for lunchtime ‘power-downs’. Meditation and relaxation is at the core of the spa’s ethos with relaxation factored into the simplest of treatments from manicures through to haircuts.
Its central location has proved popular to shoppers and tourists alike and this subsequent demand has led to the spa’s expansion in one of Manchester’s busiest department stores. In addition to a spa offering, customers can enjoy an afternoon tea post treatment on the balcony whilst watching the world go by. Or a glass of bubbly with friends. The concept and design of the new interior has been developed by spa owner, Martha Brophy.
