The winner’s of this year’s Caterer’s 2022 Hotel Cateys awards were honoured last night at a star-studded ceremony at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel.
North West venues led the way across the evening, with Northcote managing director, Craig Bancroft awarded the top accolade for ‘Outstanding Contribution’. Bancroft has played an integral role in the hotel’s development since he first joined back in 1983.
Northcote has grown to be a popular gastronomic destination since, gaining it a Michelin star, alongside four red AA stars. Known for its warmth and expertise when it comes to food and wine, Bancroft was described as “the most fabulous mine host, one of the best in the world”.
As well as Northcote, Eleanor Bristow who manages The French by Adam Reid at The Midland took home the award for Hotel Restaurant Manager of the year. Using only the finest seasonal produce available, the food at The French is known across the city and beyond for its exquisite flavours.
The 2022 Hotelier was awarded to Adrian Ellis for his work at The Lowry Hotel, Manchester’s only five-star hotel, and Dakota took home the accolade for ‘People Team of the Year’ for its dedicated staff.
Each year The Caterer, which is one of the leading multimedia outlets dedicated to the UK hospitality industry, brings people together to celebrate the achievements of hotels across the region.
Across the 20 categories, hotel’s and the team’s working tirelessly to make them what they are are awarded for the likes of ‘Sustainable Hotel of the Year’, Housekeeper of the Year, Hotel Chef of the Year, Front of House Manager of the Year and more.
Alongside the big wins for the North West, Jonathan Raggett, who’s behind The Red Carnation Hotel Collection won the Extra Mile Award and Sustainable Hotel of the Year went to Heckfield Place. As well as this, London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel won the award for Conferencing and Banqueting Team of the Year.
