The only thing I can think of would be the fantastic places to stay- so I went on to Air BnB and picked out some of the best ones with varying price, location and number of beds…
Super stylish apartment in a cool neighbourhood
Tucked away in the leafy suburb of West Didsbury is this trendy two bedroom apartment. The location couldn’t be better if you wanted to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city and is close to some amazing bars, shops and restaurants on the local Burton Road. If you want to be in town, you can get there via tram in just 25 minutes, but I wouldn’t bother if I were you- I’d just stay in that gorgeous bath all weekend with a bottle of champagne.
Price: £65 per night

City Centre Contemporary Penthouse
They say everyone should live in Manchester city centre at least once in their lives- and this penthouse will reiterate this even further. This flat is right in the middle of it all, close to the trendy Northern Quarter which is the centre of all the nightlife here in Manchester. It is also pretty close to the train station, so it is easy to get to as well. This place has gorgeous original features like beams juxtaposed with the ultra-modern fixtures and has two bedrooms which will sleep two couples comfortably and with a sofa bed for another ever so slightly unluckier pair.
Price: £142 per night
Sleeps: 6

Stock Farmhouse
Granted, a little further afield and in the neighbouring county of Cheshire is Stock Farmhouse. This makes the perfect location for a larger group who might be looking for a weekend away in the countryside. Manchester and the surrounding areas are stunning and make lovely places to visit if you are not interested in city life. The farmhouse is a 10-minute drive away from two famous country houses too if that is what you are into, as well as plenty of lovely walks and country pubs to wet your whistle. This beautiful farmhouse boasts a hot tub and four spacious bedrooms and is 100% dog-friendly which is always a selling point for me.
Price: £490 per night
Sleeps: 10 (+ unlimited doggos)

Beautiful Narrowboat
Now I have lived in Manchester for six years now, and I have never seen a place I want to stay at more than this adorable little narrowboat that is moored up in New Islington. Weekend away in my city? Yes please- it would sure save on the travel costs. Anyway, this 57ft narrowboat has one double bedroom and all the mod-cons such as a power shower, fully functional kitchen, Wi-Fi and a wood burning stove that is perfect for snuggling up in front of on a cold winter night. Unfortunately, you cannot roam the canals in it, but with a 10-minute walk to the Northern Quarter, you shouldn’t feel the need.
Price: From £69 per night
Sleeps: 3

Amazing West Didsbury apartment in an old Bank
I didn’t want to drone on about West Didsbury too much because I am aware most visitors to Manchester would prefer to stay in the centre, but this fantastic property caught my eye. It is a one bedroom flat, perfect for two guests, in an old bank. It still has loads of original features like the large steel safe door as well as fashionable exposed brick and the stainless steel kitchen my dreams are made of. I would stay here for a night or two even though I live down the road! If you end up staying here or in West Didsbury, in general, feel free to consult our guide of things to do too.
Price: £79 per night
Sleeps: 2

The Loom Townhouse
Usually, if you are a larger group of 6 or more, you will tend to have to sacrifice sophistication, so everyone has somewhere to sleep. The Loom Town House in Ancoats (Manchester hottest ‘up and coming’ area) seems to be the exception to the rule. This gorgeous townhouse has five stunning bedrooms and can comfortably sleep up to 10 guests in one of the most beautiful interiors I have ever seen. Minimalism never looked so good, but this makes the perfect place to spend a weekend with lots of friends and loved ones for a special occasion.
Price: £156 per night
Sleeps: 10

Double/Ensuite in bohemian Chorlton
All these extravagant homes are all good and well, but what if you are on your own or are just after a room? There are plenty private rooms available on Air BnB, but the one that caught my eye the most Is this one in Chorlton ran by local artist Gwyn. The room is light and airy, and it comes with an en-suite (which is quite rare with private rooms), and all the reviews do not stop singing the hosts praises. The space is terrific and fun surrounded by her artwork with all the amenities you could dream of. Chorlton is fantastic in itself- you can stay there with its fabulous selection of shops, restaurants and bars (which you can read about here) or nip into town on the tram and be there in 15 minutes.
