Normally you have to wait until Xmas to get a chance to do some late night shopping, and even then you have to buy stuff for other people. But good news for people who prefer to shop after dark and ideally with a glass of something fizzy in hand, The Night Market UK is returning to Manchester.
The Glasgow-born travelling Night Market UK has been popping up at venues since 2019 and following last year’s successful event at Victoria Baths, it’s back in Manchester for 2023. This time it’s heading to the mahoosive Love Factory and bringing over 90 independent vendors and street food stalls with it to make it the biggest event yet.
The event will take over the entire Love Factory space on Friday 7 July. In the main room, you’ll find all kinds of wares from local artists and artisans, jewellers and designers as well as vintage clothing, baked goods and homewares. Think up-cycled jewellery, edgy new pieces of art for your walls, locally made spirits and healthy drinks, handmade wooden bowls, multicoloured dried flower displays, handmade condiments, and uniquely designed candles. This is not your nana’s market stall tat.
Step outside to the stretch tent and this is where you can refuel ready to do another lap. Six street food vendors (think dumplings, pizza, Thai food and more) will be stationed here to keep your stomach rumbles at bay.
There’s more, a mezzanine level will play host to a chill-out spaces where you can catch your breath, have a drink, and show your mates what you’ve bought.
When booking a ticket, you just need to choose your arrival time and can stay as long as you want to but bear in mind if you pick a later slot that some of the food might have sold out by then.
Enes’Drop Collective will be providing the DJs for the evening in the form of Andrea Trout and Ruby Swallow who will be keeping the tunes coming through Love Factory’s top of the range sound system. It’s a family friendly event (free entry for under 12s) and dog friendly too.
