Country Casuals have opened the doors to a brand new Manchester store. It is situated on St Ann’s Square amongst the hustle and bustle of the shopping hub of Deansgate.
TFN went along to the shop opening to have a quick chat with Area Manager Karen Pepper about Country Casuals, Manchester and the future…
TFN: How long is this store expected to stay in Manchester?
Karen Pepper: This store will be permanent, we don’t really short lease properties at this time.
TFN: Why did you choose to bring a dedicated Country Casuals store in Manchester?
KP: We had previously had stores in Manchester based on King Street, about 10 years ago now. We have two concessions in Manchester which are doing very well but by opening the new store we also have an outlet for Viyella as well as Country Casuals, which we didn’t have beforehand.
TFN: Why did you choose St Ann’s Square for the new store?
KP: Mostly for footfall reasons, it’s en route from House of Fraser to the Arndale, making it a pinnacle for Manchester shopping. We wanted somewhere with heart that would be lively at the same time.
TFN: Are there any plans to open more stores in Manchester in the future?
KP: It will just be this store for now, we only have one store per town.
TFN: Is there anything different about this store compared to others?
KP: This store is up to date with our current concept, there are different looks and textured wallpaper which clearly show the different areas, CC is more contemporary and Viyella is classic. There is also the gold signage on this store rather than the classic cream, it’s much stronger branding.
TFN: How is the S/S collection doing?
KP: We’re half way through S/S at the moment, we should have new stock coming in every couple of weeks so make sure you keep coming in!
Country Casuals is based on St Ann’a Square, visit their website for more details about the collection.
