Stretford Socials: Brand New Community Event with Live Music, Workshops, Wood Fired Pizzas and More

Set to bring a ‘whole new dimension to Saturday afternoons in Stretford’, Stretford Socials debuts tomorrow.

Stretford Mall jubilee celebrations.

Stretford Socials, a brand new monthly community event, is launching tomorrow with a range of activities that are suitable for all the family. 

In conjunction with Playmaker events, a local company who are based in Stretford Mall, the Stretford Socials will take place on the first Saturday of every month in The SQ area of the Mall and the adjoining outside area. 

It includes a whole raft of community support activities with a number of local charities and fundraising events taking place, all designed by the local community for the local area.

There will be a fantastic combination of food and drink courtesy of Baby Js Rustic Pizza, a family run pizza stall with delicious wood fired pizzas and garlic bread, Stretford’s Mall’s very own Hive Bar will be selling beer and wine and St Matthews Church will be creating and serving bakes and drinks, with all proceeds going back into the church funds. There will also be a small craft activity based on nature club for families.

Fantastic entertainment comes courtesy of NGL’s two piece band ‘Kid Blue’. The stalls for the first event include:

Kickstart CIC  – FREE OF CHARGE Kids activities will be taking place all afternoon that are specially designed to help aid children’s movement

Longford Park Pets Corner will also be fundraising via a Tombola and selling scarves & key rings

Stretford Foodbank will be collecting donations

Little Belle Gifts, run by a local Stretford mum will be selling her beautiful handmade crayons and playdough and will be providing free crafting

● There will also be a Winter coats drop off point to contribute towards the successful uniform shop

NGL CIC will be selling preloved vinyl and books

Trafford Veterans CIC will be distributing information about their work

Collaborative women CIC will be distributing information about the work they do working with women to provide safe and affordable housing.

Friends of Victoria Park will be talking about the wide range of activities and classes available at the park.
