Manchester is set to play host to a huge free to attend event aimed at driving solutions to the climate crisis on 8th and 0th July at Manchester Central. The Sustainability Show offers a unique and interactive opportunity to engage with leading sustainability innovators, researchers, and brands.
The two-day event begins with a live debate, ‘Delivering a Renewable Future – A Vision for Hope in the North West’. This discussion features key figures in local and regional politics and sustainability, including Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotherham, members of the North West Net Zero/Youth Network, Dale Vince from the Green Energy Task Force, and moderator John Robb.
Attendees can also look forward to a roster of distinguished speakers, such as Max La Manna, the award-winning low-waste chef, Jason Williams, the RHS award-winning garden designer known as ‘The Cloud Gardener’, Georgina Wilson-Powell, author of ‘365 Ways To Save The Planet’, and Sophie Benson, a journalist known for her work on the social and environmental impacts of fashion, tech, and beauty.
Notably, the event will also offer an array of interactive activities. Visitors will have the chance to test drive the latest Tesla electric vehicles on a specially designed track, get involved in an up-cycling workshop hosted by Suez and Recycle for Greater Manchester, and participate in a variety of eco crafting sessions.
The first 50 attendees will receive a goodie bag worth up to £60, and there will be a pop-up store from Charity.Supermarket offering exclusive secondhand fashion. For the younger attendees, there’s the ‘Little Green Minds’ kids’ activities, which include seed planting workshops and eco-story time.
Adding to the holistic experience, visitors can relax with lunchtime mindfulness sessions with Jarvis Smith, or explore the Ahiflower meadow installation, promoting a superfood that could replace all fish-derived omega 3s and aids in regenerative agriculture in the UK.
New exhibitors such as Tesla, Yes Colours, and Starling join an extensive list of leading sustainable brands showcasing the latest advancements in eco-friendly technologies and solutions.
