Enjoy a night of performances and cultural engagement inspired by ‘Warriors of the Plains’ an exhibition of Native North American ceremonial objects.
The evening’s programme will deliver everything from a beading session (inspired by the fantastic examples in the exhibition), to live Native American flute music and a special performance from Mustard Tree Drama Group. After Hours – Warriors of the Plains

‘Warriors of the Plains’ focuses particularly on the material culture of ‘warrior society’ from 1800 to present and its crucial role in upholding social, cultural and political identities.
Be inspired by the exquisite costumes and take part in some beading with crafter Caroline Coates.
The Mustard Tree Drama Group perform their piece responding to the displacement of the American Plains Indians.
Learn about the Salford Sioux and encounter some intriguing objects from the museum’s collection stores.
Kathryn Williams of the RNCM gives a Native American flute performance.
Anjum Malik performs, ‘The Lost Salford Sioux’, part of ‘Hidden Stories’, a quartet of emotive monologues about ordinary people living hidden lives.
‘After Hours’ at Manchester Museum is a free, monthly, evening event, which offers an unexpected encounter with their exhibitions and collections.
