If you’ve hit that same point in your life as I have and a sharing size (serves four, they mean one) chocolate bar just doesn’t even touch the sides, then look no further than below where you can overindulge beyond your wildest dreams on the beloved cocoa bean.

We aren’t fortunate enough to live close to Cadbury World or Willy Wonka’s factory but you can check these places out instead…

Slattery’s Patissier & Chocolatier
Always a favourite, there’s no end to the chocolate tasting/admiring you can partake in at Slattery. As well as endless hours of perusing through the shops’ wide variety of bars and boxes of chocolate, why not make your own truffles in a Fun Day Chocolate workshop or spend half a day making chocolate cake? They’ve also just introduced a Harry Potter sorting hat Easter Egg which looks and tastes as magical as it bloody sounds.

Bonbon Chocolate Boutique
Known primarily for its stunning hot chocolate, Bonbon serves handmade chocolate (the only place in Manchester to do so) with a range of fillings that are too hard to choose from. Their current menu includes vegan salted caramel, coffee cream tonka bean and stilton and caramel (not joking). If you have an insatiable sweet tooth, try their chocolate indulgence plates including bonbons, cakes, ice cream and a drink – gluten free and vegan options too!

Cocoa-Cabana
Your name doesn’t have to be Lola and you certainly don’t have to be a show girl here at the Cocoa-Cabana (I laughed). But you can have a chocolate afternoon tea and who doesn’t want that! Oh, and handmade truffles and brownies, brought to you by chocolatier Sarah Gallacher, so you know it’s got to be good.

Cocoa-Cabana, 168 Burton Rd, Manchester M20 1LH

In Truffle We Trust
Okay so you can’t exactly visit this place because it’s primarily online but it’s based in Manchester and the chocolate they produce here is so good, you’ll be clamouring around with an A to Z looking for where they make it so you can get more. They’ve supplied chocolate to many of the city’s best restaurants so you can expect top, top quality and taste.

Hotel Chocolat
The clue’s in the name, but this shop isn’t just somewhere to buy a broken up Milky Way; you can go on what they like to call a ‘chocolate adventure’ experience day. Make and taste any variety of chocolate, and you won’t walk away unhappy.

Cocoa Tree
A cosy little café in Chorlton with cosy boxes of little chocolates to match. All chocolates are gluten free and vegetarian and they even have diary free and vegan options. Plus, they’re all ethically sourced from tree to bar, so it’s a win for everyone!
