Cord, the Northern Quarters’ back street gem of a boozer is undergoing a transformation.
Slats are out and rough scaffold is in with battered pre-loved chesterfield sofas, all off-set against large-scale ‘Kill Bill yellow’ illustrations by renowned Manchester artist Chris Howker.
Expect to hear Manchester’s finest playing for your pleasure on a state of the art newly installed Bose sound system.
Cord’s new gallery space Vault launched lastnight with its first exhibition ‘From Pet Shops to Porn’ reflecting the history of Tib St curated by the brilliant OWT collective, new, quarterly changing exhibitions will be throwing colour over the white legendary glazed brick basement.
Hand pulled real ales are the order of the day with a discerning new range of bottled beers and spirits and Cord is also happy to announce it will be the first BYOF (bring your own food) venue in the northern quarter. Cord will supply the plates, napkins and cutlery whether you’re relaxing with a latte or settling in with a beer and, along with free WIFI, the venue hopes you’ll find it a refreshed and welcoming space to meet, eat and drink in.
