Last week saw the Manchester launch of Cubanisto House of Maks, one of a series of immersive, secret parties taking place across the UK throughout this year.
Manchester has recently seen an uprise in secret street food supper club warehouse rave type activities and in my opinion the city is all the better for it. The secret venue in question this time was the Old Granada Studios. We followed the neon skull and came across a disoriantating room, bright light, smoked atmosphere and a series of “druids” repeating a singular instruction – “Tell us your confession.”
Post confession we made our way down the rabbit hole and through a small door opening out into a warehouse party in full swing. Hundreds of people adorned with the same white masks in a dark warehouse space with great music, just your average Friday night at Old Granada.
The Cubanisto was flowing all evening and after speaking to a fair few people the general consensus was good. A great evening with some truly interesting characters and great gathering of Manchester’s Finest folks.
