Toby Harris, is one of the leading thinkers in the area of live cinema performance and will be performing live the exceptional ‘rbn_esc >> urban escape’ and giving an intimate talk on the journey of his practice and thought on live cinema.
Toby Harris researches audiences by day and plays with them at night. He’s particularly driven by what characterises the ‘liveness’ of live events, and how we can design for that.
‘rbn_esc’ is a project fusing cinema and live experimental visuals. Presenting a series of character scenarios, it invites the audience to construct narrative and cultural critique. Evolving out of the laboratory of all-night raves at the turn of the century, a refined, fully audio-visual performance was developed that has since been performed to audiences around the world.
