You know its old because they’ve spelt old and shop like what they used to in the olde dayes.The sweets here thankfully far from old. They stock everything you could ever really want from a sweet shop; American sweets, classic British sweets, new and weird sweets, you name it they’ve probably got it. The fizzy apple sour laces are my favourite.

Nestled away nicely in trendy Didsbury, here you can find all the hard-boiled classics of yesteryear all the way to the stuff that crackles on your tongue that you’re not quite sure if you like or not. As well as their brilliant selection of sweets they do bespoke party bags that make a perfect gift that you can make up with all your favourites.

Delhi Sweet Centre
Rusholme’s one-stop shop for cakes, desserts and all things sugar and a great place after a curry. It’s sometimes hard to walk past, see all of the lovely colours, shapes and decorations and not feel like you’ve taken a wrong turn and ended up in some fairy tale gingerbread land where everything you lick is sweet. My advice? Just bite the bullet and pop in for a selection box that beats anything you’d get at Christmas.

Bonbon Chocolate Boutique
Yeah, Thornton’s is good, so is Hotel Chocolate (not what I thought it was when I turned up with a suitcase) but Bonbon chocolate boutique is on another level. If Heston Blumenthal opened a chocolate shop, it’d be this. The chocolate indulgence plate that you can mix up with whatever you like is like a chocolate taster menu, but everything tastes like chocolate, how is that not amazing?If you know someone who has yet to reach rock bottom and admit to themselves that they’re a chocoholic, treat them to a voucher for a gift that’s a bit different.
