GRUB presents Gluten Free AF

GRUB is having a super-special Gluten Free event this week over at Red Bank, so if you always find yourself struggling to find food that doesn’t make you ill – this might just be a saviour for you. They’ll be serving up some of the best gluten free street food in Manchester, alongside gluten free beers and booze – all surrounded by top tunes. You should expect Gondola Raclette, The Sri Lankan Experience and The Exclusive Scoop in terms of food. That enough for you?
MCR Union Tap Room Opens
Saturday 22nd August
Manchester Union have decided to get back in the habit of opening up their Tap Room doors, now that the government is letting them do so. They’ve made a few changes to how it all works to comply with COVID guidance and measures but there’s one thing that’s not changed – and that’s the proper fit lager that they’ll be pumping out – and it’s fresh AF.
Spanish Brunch with Bottomless Cava @ La Bandera

I was here last weekend and I was thoroughly impressed with the Bottomless Brunch offering – so much so in fact that I’ve decided to include it as a ‘thing to do’ this week. Basically, you choose a brunch dish and then get Bottomless Cava for just £26pp and the dishes are absolutely sublime. They’ve created some authentic Spanish dishes for you to try, including the excellent Huevos Rotos which is runny eggs broken over fried potatoes and chorizo. Go for the cheese and meat platter to share too.
NEW Bottomless Brunch @ Edinburgh Castle

There’s a new bottomless brunch on the scene as Edinburgh Castle throw their car keys into the mix – ready to serve up some deliciosu brunch dishes alongside endless cocktails or beers. I’ve not seen any picstures of the food yet but you can be confident that it’s all going to be bloody gorgeous. That’s the menu up there – sounds good eh?!
FREE Screenings of Inside Out & WALL-E @ YES
Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd August
A team of film buffs who call themselves ‘AboveTheLine’ have started doing FREE cinema screenings at YES during the week and at weekends and this weekend they’re showing two Pixar classics, WALL-E and Inside Out. Personally, I think WALL-E is vastly superior, well, up until the robots get onto the spaceship with all of the fat humans – it goes downhill pretty quickly from there. Beforehand though – it’s one of Pixar’s best. Inside Out – too sad that one. Not for me.
