Cultural collaborations continue over at The Refuge next May bank holiday (24th May – 27th May), seeing a Whitworth Gallery takeover, Urban Decay makeup masterclasses, Wardrobe Surgery from Stitched Up, family activities and even yoga from Lululemon.
Saturday 25th May
Beginning with the Whitworth Art Gallery on Saturday 25th May the gallery in the park is brought to life in 3D, face painting and artist-led activities for all the family inspired by the Whitworth’s collections.
Our Kid’s Social will be taking place in The Courtyard 10am – 12pm including family-friendly fun such as circus activities and lino printing.
Sunday 26th May
The Sunday promises an eco-friendly way to fix up your wardrobe with Manchester-based non-profit Stitched Up. Take down up to 10 items of clothing to swap or alter and refresh your wardrobe. Entry is free but donations to Forever Manchester are welcome!
Urban Decay will also be offering makeup masterclasses including disco, smokey and less is more classes 11am, 1pm, 3pm. Places in the classes are £10 which is redeemable on the day for products and there is even student and makeup artist discount for those with ID.
The weekend is soundtracked with lounge, Latin and cocktail jazz by The Refugee’s resident DJs Dr Sid and Dom, Blood & Fire.
Monday 27th May
If that wasn’t enough Lululemon are offering a spectacular yoga session in The Winter Garden starting at 11:30 am on Monday 27th for all levels.
The uplifting wellbeing event will be hosted by leading yogi Jen Possami, guiding you through a calming, warm Indian flow. Places are limited and on a first-come-first-served basis so be quick and get your place. Make sure to bring your mat, yogis!
