This weekend, four sustainable female-led brands are popping up in the Pink Room at YES.

Guests will get a chance to shop a selection of Manchester’s most unique indie makers at the curated Christmas pop-up shop, which will take place on Sunday (4th December) from 12pm – 6pm.

This one-day event showcases four sustainable woman-owned brands, who will be peddling their handmade wares against the backdrop of YES’ iconic Pink Room. Mariel Osborn, Grey Milk, SKEN Studios and POWERPLANT will all be in attendance showcasing a range of jewellery, clothing, floristry and more.

Prop maker and artist Mariel Osborn uses her materials knowledge to make fun homeware products. Using rounded edges, gummy paint finishes and, often a lot of shimmer, too, her work will add a pop of colour to your life.

Expect blobby mirrors, wavy shelves and artworks, as well as a chance to speak to Mariel about pre-ordering a custom piece.

Grey Milk is an independent clothing company run from a back garden in North Manchester. Best known for its use of bold colours and prints, Grey Milk offers modern, made to order pieces, encouraging a slower way of consuming fashion for all body types.

Grey Milk will be bringing a really exciting offering to YES, including a limited edition run of seasonal pieces, as well as their entire current collection. Shoppers will also get a chance to take home pre-made pieces, alongside placing orders for made to measure items.

Sustainable jewellery brand, SKEN Studios makes playful, humorous pieces from its Sale-based studio, founded by Sabira Silcock.

The brand’s joyful designs are all lovingly handmade in recycled silver by Sabira and carefully packaged using recycled materials – both fashionable and planet conscious.

SKEN is excited to debut its brand-new ‘Smiles All Round Collection’ at YES. These new pieces are made by melting silver off-cuts to create a molten surface, which is topped off with a cheeky grin.

Completing the line-up this Sunday is POWERPLANT, an floral design studio based in Ancoats that brings a selection of colourful and uniquely designed Christmas wreaths.

Everything is made sustainably using fresh seasonal foliage, set upon a moss base and decorated using responsibly sourced materials. There’ll be a selection of sizes available to buy and each design will be one of a kind, decked with jazzy ribbons in a load of different colours and textures.

POWERPLANT is also hosting two DIY workshops throughout the afternoon at the pop-up (1:30pm & 4:00pm) where participants can come along and make their own unique Christmas wreath. Limited spaces are available for the workshops, purchase tickets below.
