I can confidently say on behalf of all of Greater Manchester that we bloody love a good boozy brunch.

Let’s face it, the more extravagant the better and with more activities involved please; long gone are the days of civilised poached eggs and smashed avocado.

What we also love is a bottomless brunch at a reasonable price, a decent few hours to sink as many drinks as you like and where you aren’t limited to one drink choice.

So, look no further than Dog Bowl’s brand-new bottomless brunch – for £25 you can eat one of their new brunch dishes and drink as much as you like. Granted, you might find it hard to bowl in a straight line afterwards, but it’s all in the name of good fun isn’t it?

Dog Bowl’s new extensive brunch menu ranges from the classics – Eggs Benedict, Royale and a Full English, to American-style stacked pancakes, bagels and chicken and waffles. There’s even a wonderful Vegan selection, including Veggs Benny, a Vegan Full English and Chkn and Waffles.

I opted for the Vegan Full English although not vegan in the slightest. I have to tell you that the vegan sausages and black pudding easily rival their meaty brothers because my word, they were delicious. A particular highlight was the soy and garlic mushrooms, done to absolute perfection.

My friend ordered the standard Full English, a grand ensemble of pork sausages, thick sliced bacon, a home-made hash brown, soy and garlic mushrooms, rosemary cherry tomatoes, black pudding, a fried egg, sourdough bread and baked beans.

All round it was delicious. Every component was cooked very well and the addition of the black pudding and garlic mushrooms made it that extra bit special.

A tiny gripe is that in one of the rounds, I opted for a Bloody Mary which ended up being nowhere near spicy enough. The prosecco and Mimosas most certainly made up for it though.

I’ve had my fair share of bottomless brunches and I would confidently say Dog Bowl’s is excellent value for money. The food was superb (minus a few minor hiccups) and the amazing selection of drinks was spot on.

If you’re looking for a wild, energetic brunch with your pals, then Dog Bowl is probably not the right place for you – it’s more of a relaxing boozy brunch kind of place.

But let’s not forget about one of the most important things – the bowling. Dog Bowl is one of the few establishments in town with some alleys and at only a couple of quid a game, it’s a unique twist to any breakfast that would never get boring, especially after one-too-many drinks.

Bottomless Brunch is available every weekend from 11am-4pm and comes in two-hour slots. To make sure you don’t miss out; book a table in advance for that and bowling.
