On Friday 15th September Mama Z will be transforming the Unit 101 railway arch for the Mama Z Filipino Disco pop up serving freshly cooked Filipino food right in front of you.

What started as a secret dining club for friends has quickly turned into an event Manchester has never experienced before. Over the past few years, Mama Z has been making her Instagram fans drool with her daily photos of food, she cooks at home, and now it’s your first opportunity to taste it!

The night will begin as you step out of the Manchester night into an underground den imported directly from Manila. You’ll be welcomed with a drink and seated in front of an open kitchen to watch Mama Z cook up her Filipino feast from scratch, and you might even find out about the dishes and their history. For the price of the ticket, you experience four Filipino dishes matched with four beers or Filipino mocktails that have been hand picked by Mama Z to match the flavours of the food. Once the food has been served, it’s time to move the tables to one side as we hand over to our DJ for some tropical deep disco vibes.

Mama Z aka Zosima Fulwell is a Manchester girl and self-taught cook who grew up in Saudi Arabia, spending her summer holidays in her mother’s home country, the Philippines. Her memories of the place are being surrounded by food and anyone who knows a Filipino knows that food is the main event of any gathering.

Zosima said ”I’m so excited to bring a taste of the Philippines to Manchester with my first ever pop up. Food brings everyone together, and the sharing of food is what makes it so special.”

The Mama Z Filipino Disco is on Friday Sep 15th 2017 at Unit 101, Great Western Street, Manchester M12 6JL. 7pm - 12am.
