Released on March 9th 2018, Suleiman’s brand new album Memories is a bold collection of uninhibited songs inspired by Ady’s personal experiences. Drawing on touchstones of British adolescence, the album covers a broad range of themes – from love and relationships through to mental health issues.

“Every song tells a story and shares my thoughts on situations and relationships – my experiences as a young man.” Says Ady. “There’s a rawness and emotion throughout that I never wanted to lose. I didn’t want overproduced songs. You can still hear a mistake I made on the guitar in Longing For Your Love. I wanted it kept in. Mistakes are what make you human – the important thing is to keep learning.”

All the tracks on Memories are written by Ady, and  co-produced by Ady alongside the likes of Ivor Novello winning Cassel The Beat Maker (Akala, Plan B), Richard Archer, Eric Appapolay (Neneh Cherry, Craig David, Lionel Ritchie) and Grades (Bastille, Dua Lipa, Khalid). Highlights include forthcoming single ‘Need Somebody To Love’ which sees Ady intertwine sprawling jazz with adolescent infatuation over a teardrop drumbeat and sparse choral samples.

Memories will be released on Suleiman’s own label imprint, Pemba, named after Pemba Island in the Zanzibar Archipelago, where his father was born and raised and where his creative and cultural roots stem from.
