Fresh off the back of a ground-breaking 2021, award-winning Manchester based promoter / label, Animal Crossing has announced the 2nd edition of their Summer Of Love Festival – taking place within the grounds of an abandoned warehouse district in the heart of Manchester City Centre.

Animal Crossing have a history of putting on incredible parties in alluring locations, as proven over recent years with their initial Summer Of Love Festival in 2021, as well as bespoke environments such as car showrooms, railway arches and their very own critically acclaimed event space – The Loft.

The Summer Of Love 2022 is set to be their biggest venture yet, featuring a diverse roster of international artists, an extensive arts and wellness programmes, as well as an onsite record fair and food market.

The two-day festival is looking to make its mark in the international scene as one of the key destination events of the summer, and this year’s bill leaves little room for doubt. Mixing the most exciting underground talent with dance music stalwarts, combining extended DJ selectors with an array of live sets.

The legendary Mr. G tops the bill bringing his live set to Manchester for only the second time in 10 years. ARPIAR, the minimalist trio of Raresh, Petre Insperecsu and Rhadoo, return after a phenomenal response in 2021. Notorious for her high energy sets and infectious party spirit, T4T LUV NRG Co-Creator, Eris Drew will also deliver unstoppable old school house and breaks alongside Margaret Dygas, Nicolas Lutz and Francesco Del Garda.

The festival also promises unmissable b2b sets from Ben UFO and Craig Richards, Apollonia’s Dyed Soundorom and Shonky, tINI and Anthea, Traumer & Cristi Cons, Huerta b2b Youandwan plus Gwenan and Malika. Never forgetting its roots, Summer Of Love also salutes the brilliant up and coming talent across the globe, with the likes of Josh Baker, Nathan Pinder and Junki Inoue noted as artists establishing themselves on the bill.

Hosted by the tastemakers of The Vinyl Factory, Palace Vinyl, Sub City and international sellers Yoyaku, it wouldn’t be Summer Of Love without inviting its music obsessed attendees to dig for the best wax at its Record Fair.

Offering so much more outside of the realms of music, the festival has teamed up with local art gallery owner, Joe Smonolsky to co-create the Artist’s Corner, taking inspiration from Glastonbury’s Stone Circle, providing intriguing flourishes to once again position the festival as a truly unique offering.

Keeping the Manchester connection at the forefront of everything they do, the wellness area will be expanded to incorporate The Wellness Cafe this year. Housing local brand, Feel Good Club the cafe will be on hand to motivate and elevate attendees, as well as give them a space to slow down and relax, ensuring they leave feeling inspired to nurture their physical and mental wellbeing.

Speaking of the event, Animal Crossing said: “Following the energy of our first edition, we were determined to push the boundaries & expand the narrative of what defined the Summer of Love. An annual occasion to bring people together in celebration of music, arts & wellness.

“There has been such great ambition for year two and we’re super proud of the picture that’s been painted. To be welcoming such a list of amazing artists to Manchester fills us with joy knowing the creative experience that is still to be revealed.

“It’s not every day you have a Factory within the city centre to transform. We’re doubly excited to keep telling the story and sprinkle a little bit of joy across the August Bank Holiday weekend!”
