Makers from Manchester and beyond will descend on Victoria Baths this week, creating a unique and joyful Christmas fair to get guests in the festive spirit.
Taking place under the shelter of Victoria Baths’ vaulted glass roofs, attendees will find over 50 stalls all offering something different.
The addition of music makes for an idyllic afternoon out, as on Saturday SheChoir take to the stage and on Sunday Ordsall Acapella Singers will be filling the building with their stunning, festive vocals.
In the Tea Room, as well as serving mince pies, cakes and refreshments, the aroma of mulled wine will be adding to the seasonal atmosphere.
Some of the unique gifting ideas found at the fair include; funky cushions and lamps, tea towels, mugs, enamel pins, stationery and much more, plus stunning ceramics.
Some of the region’s most creative jewellery designers, all with very different styles, will be present, too. Expect gemstones, recycled materials, crystals, clay work, vintage and antique pieces.
Plant-based gifting is a theme that also runs throughout Victoria Baths’ Christmas fair. For example, Old Man and Magpie Candles will have their hand-poured, small batch, vegan friendly natural soy wax candles and there’ll also be a gorgeous range of vegan skincare from Wild Venus.
Giving someone a bottle of their favourite tipple is a Christmas staple and guests will be able to shop the likes of Witch Kings Rum, Manchester Gin, Victoria Baths Gin and festive inspired liqueurs in spiced honey whisky, orange brandy and coffee liqueur at the fair.
As well as browsing the stalls, there’s also the option to explore the building by booking on a guided tour. On both Saturday and Sunday ‘Discover Victoria Baths’ will run from 12pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm, available to book in advance or on arrival.
All proceeds from the Festive Winter Fair help to support the work of Victoria Baths Trust, which oversees the upkeep of the Grade II listed building and ensures that it remains open as a cultural venue and community resource.
